Growing up in a chiropractic family — coupled with 20 years of experience working with several other chiropractic clinics in Atlanta — has allowed Dr. Patterson to see the many benefits of keeping our spines aligned and healthy, and to see firsthand the positive life-changing effects chiropractic care can have on our overall wellness.
Before graduating from Life University, Dr. Patterson was exposed to many different chiropractic treatment techniques and chose to focus his attention on treating his patients with the gentle low force Atlas Orthogonal (AO) and Activator techniques. Interning at the Sweat Institute with Dr. Sweat, the pioneer and developer of the Atlas Orthogonal Chiropractic Program, proved how well patients respond to this easy and painless adjustment technique. The precision of the adjustment and positive results patients have with Activator and AO adjustments convinced Dr. Patterson that he needed to use these methods of treatment with his patients. Dr. Patterson’s professional experience with Activator and Atlas Orthogonal adjusting has also shown to help patients with more than just neck and back pain. Often headaches, numbness, limited range of motion and many other aches and pains can be caused by nerve irritation. However, we need to remember that every condition is different, sometimes the body responds quickly and other times healing is a longer process.
Dr. Patterson and his wife Pam Yarger Patterson, an interior designer, have two adult sons: Mark Patterson Jr., a graphic designer, and Travis Patterson, a business graduate from Southern Polytechnic State University. They are also proud grandparents of Jake Patterson. Dr. Patterson enjoys gardening and spending time with his family, including his dog Brutus.
Dr. Patterson grew up in Dothan, Ala., and while working with his father, also a chiropractor, he found his passion for chiropractic.
